2009

As we begin another year, let us reflect with gratitude while we plan ahead with faith and hope. Some have made New Yearʼs resolutions and others may just keep things the same. We should realize that each day brings new blessings and we do not need to wait for a new year to begin a new. Every action, thought and word we take will be a seed for a future harvest. Our current circumstances are the harvest of previous seasons of sowing seeds. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man may sow, that he also will reap. Galatians 6:7

In life we are all intertwined in some form with each other and we share moments in time, which gives us the duty to sow seeds beyond our own fields. Because the owner of the land expects us to do so. Then Jesus said to them, ” So wherever you go in the world, tell everyone the Good News.” Mark 16:15

Regardless of the time of year we must make every day a reflection of a life that is increasing in righteousness and faith. Whether we start the year fasting, exercising or with some other promise to ourselves, let us realize that unless we enrich our relationship with God there will not be any lasting satisfaction for our achievements. Jesus must become more important, while I become less important. John 3:30

We must relax to the point of surrendering, in order to be strengthening ourselves daily to take a firm stands for God. Let us allow the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to bring us all into a closer relationship with Him in 2009, and every single day regardless of the year.
