Her Most Important Role

March 19, 2009

March is Women’s History Month. We all know something about women’s history, like the fact that a woman gave birth to us, that our arrival into this world was through the sacrifice of a woman. What more important fact could you need to know about women? So if you are reading this, thank your mom for giving birth to you. Greater than that is the awesome responsibility that women seem to carry due to the lack of honorable men. Women work at a lower pay than men and most of the time are also balancing a marriage or family. Some women feel that they are competing in a man’s world. My advice to those women is let men keep it, the world is getting worse by the day and hopefully men won’t try to blame women for it, like they try to do for everything else. Some women in society believe that they can do anything a man can do and sometimes even better. Guess what? They are right! But who in their right mind would want to do the things men are called to do?! Men are called to protect and provide for their families, while being spiritual mentors. They are to leave an inheritance worth mentioning by those they leave behind. Men are to love their wives unfailingly and teach their children the ways of God. They are to protect their daughters from dead-beat guys and instruct their sons that a woman is the most precious and fragile of all living things. Woman can do all a man can do, but they are not supposed to. The American gender role reversal has created in our society a dilemma of cataclysmic proportions that will have eternal consequences for many yet to come. A man is to be the shoulder his family leans on, the family warrior that leads his wife and kids into a victorious battle. Using a kingdom as an example, a woman is called to be in essence the crown of jewels that adorns the king’s head with a beauty that commands respect and honor. We all know that without a crown you cannot be king. So is it the crown that makes the king, or the king that makes the crown? It is only a crowned king that makes a kingdom. Let us all not be fooled or women be insulted by their roles, which is the campaign of most feminist movements. If you were to look at the traditional family from 100 years ago versus today’s family, one thing would be clear: Divorce has become the cancer of society and happy marriages a fantasy. Men have failed to lead their families and women have attempted to take up that role. Granted a lot of good has occurred in that process. It has been admirable and amazing to see all that women have accomplished. But women need to take on their most important role yet in history, which is supporting men to becoming the honorable, integrity- filled leaders that keep families united. To lift their husbands, sons and brothers to making a difference in future generations of families. Men will only step into their most important role when women support them. This is truly the most historical accomplishment a woman could claim. To say that she is loved, provided for and protected by a Godly man that stands with her as he leads her into a horizon of happily ever after.
