It is so common for one to feel good about having your favorite number, color, place or choice in something well acknowledged. We sometimes get caught up in the “I’m winning” or “We are winning” as the driving force behind our actions.
In America’s current state of affairs her future seems to be dependent on Clinton, McCain, Obama, the economy, the war, the congress, the Supreme Court or any other entity of your hearts desires. Sadly it is not that simple. Individuals at some point in their lives must realize that at any moment they could take their last breath or be living their last earthly day. The acknowledgement of that vulnerable situation should make all that come to it accept the power of God. That’s what it is all about.
As believers in the mighty works of Jesus Christ, we should contribute to the greater good. The good of others and the future of all those we call brothers and sisters. When we say others we cannot stop at the borders of the United States. We must include the degraded women of the Middle East, the oppressed in dictatorships around the world, the starving in Africa and especially the misguided or lost sheep that have no Shepherd. America is more than any one person running for president or a poor economy can imagine. America was founded on Godly principles clearly outlined by her founders in the Declaration of independence and in the Constitution. America was powerfully ordained and blessed to spread the message of freedom and peace. The first U.S. President George Washington said, “The only way to have peace is to be ready for war.” War is nothing new to followers of the Ultimate Warrior who conquered death. All that we experience has greater consequences than what we can perceive with our natural vision, which is the greatest of all wars. We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world; Ephesians 6:12.
We must cultivate a spiritual awareness to understand that we must put God first. To have your God any place else other than first is to degrade Him to a lesser position than that of God. So let us seek our leader in order to have prosperity in our country as it is written in the second book of Chronicles chapter seven verse fourteen: If my own people will humbly pray and turn back to me and stop sinning, then I will answer them from heaven. I will forgive them and make their land fertile once again. Remember that “in God we trust” is more than just words.
