Many are avoiding the topic but it seems clear to those with eyes to see. The Tea Party movement shows inherent signs of a "faith factor" push that has motivated America through the likes of individuals like, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck.

There are several contested races that will likely be decided by those who are driven by faith. The Delaware Senate race with Christine O'Donnell and the Florida Governors race with Rick Scott will be decided on the "faith factor." Just ask any Blue Dog Democrat or Governor Mike Castle.

America is experiencing a revival of sorts and the "faith factor" will determine how we vote in November.

Ground Zero

September 2010

Nine years and still ground zero is a hallow ground with no signs of a memorial. It took significantly less than nine years to build the World Trade Center Complex that was destroyed in moments by radical terrorist on September 11, 2001.

Americans know well that success is not only measured by how tall you stand, but how fast you get up after you fall. The failure of completing a structure at ground zero is shameful to the lives lost. We owe the fallen the honor of a memorial. We have to show the world that America can come back fast, fortified and better than before. To not do so only emboldens the terrorist and those who sympathise with their views.

Some in Washington should figure it out that a new structure at the ground zero site can help win the war against terrorism. They were six Americans, one German, one Briton, and two Afghan interpreters. There have been many things written about Christian humanitarian work by the mainstream media for years and in this recent senseless crime they again failed to point out the friend factor. They have missed the basic premises that the true character of a friend is love, and God is love.

The greatest attribute of a friend will always be that they will voluntarily for love lay down their life for you. We have seen this time and time again in Hollywood war movies and dramatic epics of senseless violence. The fact is that a friend known can most of the time be counted on. A greater fact is that an unknown friend of God is better than a friend of yours.

Let me put it simply by saying that a friend of God has a vested interest in the greater good. The average citizen rarely keeps more than two close friends they can truly count on. Ironically enough you see missionaries visiting unknown lands and sharing with total strangers their love with a passion greater than that of a close friend. Why you may ask? The reason is they love God and are a friend of God.

Greater love has no man than to lay his life down for a friend. God knows that and for the family and relatives of the many Christian martyrs that have gone to their everlasting home by being a loving friend in unloving lands may the blessings of God be upon them.

Do not just COEXIST!

July 2010

There is a huge scam that’s been around for centuries but seems to be making a comeback. As most scams would have it, people entangled in it don’t even realize what is really going on.

The scam is perpetuated under the umbrella of false hope, tolerance and compassion. Some people even refer to it under a “Coexist” labeling, which would appear to be a universally agreeable name.

To be kind to one another is one thing but to promote coexistence with evil is degrading. The old “live and let live” motto that we all have become accustomed to every time a political controversy arises is the fuel behind the scam.

I like to refer to it as a scheme more than a scam since I believe it is routed in demonic influences. That is the only reason why someone would unknowingly accept differences that inherently and very gradually move them away from goodness to what they believe to be a healthy existence.

You see, we all want to get along with peace loving individuals that respect each other’s views. Unfortunately, humans like in the animal kingdom live in many circumstances that do not condone coexisting. Many people are not peace loving individuals that respect others. For example; we imprison our criminals and execute those who commit heinous crimes. Pedophiles are despised and terrorists are engaged in battle. We have a moral and spiritual obligation to be kind to everyone but to also protect ourselves.

We must fight the good fight and wage war against evil and evil doers. Do not accept or passively ignore wrongdoing. To celebrate coexistence is to display your inability to distinguish between right from wrong. It is a masquerading of your ignorance. If you truly believe what you believe to be right, then coexisting with those who do not should be at minimum a motivation to share your beliefs. If you do not, then you are probably not sure of what you believe in and you are just in a coexisting status until you figure it out.

To allow demoralizing views to continue to become accepting in our mainstream of society is to “Coexist.” If so many believe in coexistence and not offending others then divorce should not be so popular. We should coexist with family members before preaching coexistence with strangers. We should promote the “Golden Rule” rather than coexistence. We should live by example and not coexist with evil or representations thereof. We must make a difference for righteousness not for coexistence.

Father

June 2010

To change, even for the better, is to accept the present as being void or in need of something. God is perfect and complete therefore change does not apply.

In today’s world we have changed many fundamental truths to suit our views or needs. Because we now do, see, or say things differently than before does not make them right or true. One thing we can always count on is that God will never change.

God is our father in heaven and as such has made the role of father on earth a significant one.

Here are some statements to consider.

The word father is used three times more in scripture than the word mother.

Fathers provide the lineage in family heritages and leave legacies of blessings or curses.

The absence of fathers in families can be attributed to most of the ills in society.

The significance of a righteous father out weights any other benefit in a child’s life.

It is surprisingly sad to see the comical humiliation society has given to the role of a father considering the aforementioned. We love our mothers, would not openly criticize them or devalue them in public but yet to do so to our fathers seems to be acceptable. Fortunately, the consequences are being seen and cannot be ignored much longer.

Today’s fathers are to be blamed for their own fatherly faults. They have allowed and in many cases contributed to the ridicule of fatherhood in our modern times.

The good thing is that times are changing. The void of honor, integrity and character is slowly being filled. The bad examples set in the past and dedicated mothers are producing a new generation of fathers. Societies are starting to see men who are beginning to fight daily for their families, not against them. A warrior spirit for a Godly legacy has surfaced in recent years. No longer are good men sitting by letting bad things continue to happen to their families. Fathers are fighting back.

So to all the fathers out there, happy Father’s Day is everyday if you are doing the right thing. Remember all things are possible with our Father in heaven.

Obama Spill or Oil Spill?

May 2010

photo McNamee/Getty from RollingStone

There is an oil spill currently poisoning the Gulf of Mexico. This is a term that is accepted as an understandable passionate view of athletic events to be held in the month of March. There is no negative connotation to the "March Madness" labeling even with the word madness in it.

What if we labeled other circumstances in our lives in the same manner based on our passion for them. For example; Family Madness, Political Madness, Parental Madness, God Madness.

It sounds silly but we in the United States, along with other countries in the world, seem to glorify the fanatical love of sports. Unfortunately, for many the definition of love is a little misunderstood. Love is not a fuzzy feeling or buying that perfect gift. As a matter of fact for those that believe in giving, a worthy thought, love becomes a charity case. Becoming a volunteer and helping others is not love. When you love it is expressed in sincerity of action, humility in thought and patience with ignorance.

Love is clearly expressed in 1 Corinthians 13:3-7

And if I give all my goods to the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it is of no profit to me. Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself, love has no pride; Love's ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil; It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true; Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping all things.

Has Obama failed?

January 27, 2010

Over a year ago American citizens voted to elect a new President. The motto or theme promoted which successfully won the White House was “change.” Today polls show the majority of those which voted for the current US President are not satisfied with the State of the Nation. Has Obama failed?

Well, you cannot determine that yet but he is on his way. Maybe “change” is not delivered as we expected or wanted. Americans unfortunately have been indoctrinated to spell relief “ROLAIDS” and diapers are commonly referred to as “PAMPERS.” What does this mean? Simple, it means Americans are victims of manipulative advertisement, commonly known as false propaganda. Americans live in a culture of quick-fix, fast foods and immediate gratification. This phenomenon places everyone in society in a position to spend money on products they do not need, items they cannot afford, and believing in delusional promises of hope. Then when reality slams everyone in the face the obvious becomes evident. So has Obama failed?

Unfortunately, we must live and learn by trial and error and we will eventually find out. Sometimes electing a president is one of those learning experiences. If Americans could learn to live without the things they have grown so accustom to have, but do not need. If Americans could only envision a dream where sacrificing their immediate gratification would mean a blessed prosperous future for their children, then failure would not be an option. If it takes the horrors of an earthquake in Haiti to drive Americans to give selfishly in an attempt to help our neighbors, then what kind of an earthquake will Americans need to help themselves? Could the Massachusetts political earthquake that elected a Republican to Democrat Ted Kennedy’s long held Senate seat be the determining factor in America succeeding and whether Obama fails? Maybe not but if the Massachusetts Senate election that resulted in Scott Brown winning is a sample of what is to come for Obama, we are witnessing failure in progress.

Gay is not the Way.

October 15, 2009

First let it be perfectly clear that hating someone for what they believe or how they live their lives is never appropriate. We are called to love the person but not their inappropriate beliefs or behaviors. It is when the beliefs and behaviors of those we disagree with begin a movement of transformation from good to bad, normal to abnormal or natural to unnatural that then we must stand guard. Who decides the good from bad or natural to unnatural? The answer is God.

There is no faith that can honestly say that homosexuality lines up with their God’s view of an appropriate lifestyle. Not Muslim, Jew or Catholic accepts homosexuality as being fine with their belief of righteous living. In Christianity, it is said, “Don’t you know that wicked people won’t inherit the kingdom of God? Stop deceiving yourselves! People who continue to commit sexual sins, who worship false gods, those who commit adultery, homosexuals, or thieves, those who are greedy or drunk, who’s use of abusive language, or who rob people will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Co 6:9-10 The key words in this passage of scripture that we should ALL focus on is “People who continue to commit…” That applies to everyone regardless of sexual orientation.

We all must repent and leave our sinful lives behind. If you do not believe in any God or if you have been able to manipulate your faith to accept your inappropriate lifestyle, then do not try to convence others to do the same. To live and let live means that you do not promote what you can obviously see in the laws of nature to be wrong. A man should not promote his sexual relationship with a child, animal or another man. To do so is to have an unrealistic belief that there are no negative consequences to our inappropriate actions. Stay away from sexual sins. Other sins that people commit don’t affect their bodies the same way sexual sins do. People who sin sexually sin against their own bodies. 1 Co 6:18

So if we dare to open the door to beliefs that are not right, who will dare close it to any. Determining what is right is not subjective. We must have absolutes in life, if not then society will move toward anarchism. Homosexuality was recognized many years ago as a sexual disorder. Now it is mainstream. To those who currently practice other kinds of recognized disorders today, that gives them hope. We must stand guard at the doorway and clearly say that gay, or any other sinful behavior, is not the Way. Love your gay neighbor but not their sexual behavior. Love the sinner, not the sin. Stand for something pure and good, or fall for anything. Changing the laws of man does not change the laws of nature, or of God.

Remember do not hate, but educate. There are things that are just wrong, regardless of political correctness. If you are unsure then seek the truth, seek God.

Why stuff happens?

September 5, 2009

So many things happen that we just do not have the answers for. We analyze the circumstances and really cannot make logical sense of why such events could be possible. We even forecast future situations based on past and present realities with hope of positive outcomes but seem amazed when they evolve into disasters. Yes, we have our own opinions on good or bad. Some say blue and others say pink. Some are Republicans, some are Democrats. Some are Believers and others are blind to the Truth. Coming to terms with the fact that there are agendas and reasons, obvious ones and hidden ones, is the key to opening the door to understanding the “why” in things.

If you are a Liberal or Conservative how far to the left or right will you go in your views before you actually stop? When you stop do those that keep going see you as a traitor to you labeling? Whether far left, far right or in the middle you came to believe what you do for a reason. Search that out and look at the other side’s viewpoint. There are many “whys” to be explored. In today’s political environment there are ideas that are supported and hated by many. A love one passes away suddenly in an unforeseen way leaving an unexplainable void. Evolution is fact and creation is the truth for some. Supporting same sex marriages is accepting the diversity in our society, is a core value to some specific communities. Believing that life starts at conception is an unwavering principal that passionately moves those who believe that. The question for all the aforementioned is “why?” What is the agenda and reason? The answer is simple and profound, to divide and conquer in an attempt to reach intended desires. How does this apply to supernatural events, death and accidents? While, non-believers would say “just because…” we Believers know that God uses all circumstances to achieve His purpose. What purpose is that? Well, to lead the lost to Him and to touch a moment in time that will set in motion a rippling set of events with the ultimate outcome that all will confront. He conquers all!

So stop a moment and instead of asking why, ask for God’s peace that surpasses all understanding.

Rude Dude?

April 20, 2009

Be kind, compassionate, understanding and caring are some of the most common statements that we hear as part of the foundations for a good relationship. Rightfully so and good advice that seems to be misunderstood especially when it is transmitted from a standpoint of manipulation. We should also be strong, direct, truthful and powerful in demonstrating our unwavering authority.

Let's take Christ in many of His interactions with others as an example. We cannot argue that Christ was the embodiment of kindness, gentleness, patience and self-control. He also is the TRUTH. We tend to dismiss many of His straight shooting remarks and actions as permissible because He was the Messiah. Nothing that Christ did should be dismissed. In today's terms, He called the Samaritan woman at the well a prostitute. He told Peter His loving disciple that he was being a lair in saying that he would never deny Him. He confronted the religious leaders of His time and refused to answer their questions before they answered His. He also called them white washed tombs and sons of the devil. Wow! Can you say Rude Dude! Where was the kind, compassionate-can't we all just get along-Jesus that we all here about? You see, sometimes, kindness is harsh and compassion is deadly. The intentions and message are what we should focus on. To give life by getting rid of that which hinders us requires emotional surgery that is performed through confrontation. Unfortunately, most of society lives for the end results of having it their way. Christ definitely was not supporting our ways but attempted to show us His way and even said He was the Way.

Today's culture is too concerned with the here and now. The "what is in it for me" attitude and being politically correct in order not to offend others, while climbing the ladder of success are the intentions behind most of society's actions. The homosexual community has moved their agenda of unnatural sexual relations from the unspeakable to the almost acceptable in just one generation. That accomplishment did not occur with their concern of being politically correct or concerned with offending others. They moved forward with their beliefs and have been relentless in telling the world that they are here and queer and there is nothing you can do about it. Acceptance of a lie does not make it true and should never be tolerated. Determining what is truth is the key. Some think if you can convince enough people that it is okay then maybe it will make it right. I think not. We need to be kind, compassionate, understanding and caring. We also need to never accept the inappropriate or unacceptable. We need to be peacefully confrontational and always speak the truth in love. Men especially have been entrusted with the leadership role of fighting for their families' future and leaving a legacy of integrity and honor-not as sissies or scary little patsies that have been effeminized by a culture of weakening authority. In God's Word you always see angels depicted as men of authority.
In Genesis, God gave man dominion and commanded him not to eat of the tree. He later made for man a perfect helper in creating woman. Christ is the head of man and men are the heads of their families. Men are and will be held accountable for their families. They are to be warriors and die as Christ died. The Lord is a warrior the Lord is his name, Exodus 15:3. Sadly most men seem to be doing a poor job. They need to be like Christ and every now and then have people think they are a Rude Dude. If your intentions are of spreading truth, showing the way and giving life to others then your motives will be known. Remember the end result should be your motivation. Having others mistakenly perceive you as confrontational should not be the concern, unless you are selling them a lie and are being a hypocrite.

The truth hurts and Christ said I am the way, the life and the truth. No pain no gain.

Her Most Important Role

March 19, 2009

March is Women’s History Month. We all know something about women’s history, like the fact that a woman gave birth to us, that our arrival into this world was through the sacrifice of a woman. What more important fact could you need to know about women? So if you are reading this, thank your mom for giving birth to you. Greater than that is the awesome responsibility that women seem to carry due to the lack of honorable men. Women work at a lower pay than men and most of the time are also balancing a marriage or family. Some women feel that they are competing in a man’s world. My advice to those women is let men keep it, the world is getting worse by the day and hopefully men won’t try to blame women for it, like they try to do for everything else. Some women in society believe that they can do anything a man can do and sometimes even better. Guess what? They are right! But who in their right mind would want to do the things men are called to do?! Men are called to protect and provide for their families, while being spiritual mentors. They are to leave an inheritance worth mentioning by those they leave behind. Men are to love their wives unfailingly and teach their children the ways of God. They are to protect their daughters from dead-beat guys and instruct their sons that a woman is the most precious and fragile of all living things. Woman can do all a man can do, but they are not supposed to. The American gender role reversal has created in our society a dilemma of cataclysmic proportions that will have eternal consequences for many yet to come. A man is to be the shoulder his family leans on, the family warrior that leads his wife and kids into a victorious battle. Using a kingdom as an example, a woman is called to be in essence the crown of jewels that adorns the king’s head with a beauty that commands respect and honor. We all know that without a crown you cannot be king. So is it the crown that makes the king, or the king that makes the crown? It is only a crowned king that makes a kingdom. Let us all not be fooled or women be insulted by their roles, which is the campaign of most feminist movements. If you were to look at the traditional family from 100 years ago versus today’s family, one thing would be clear: Divorce has become the cancer of society and happy marriages a fantasy. Men have failed to lead their families and women have attempted to take up that role. Granted a lot of good has occurred in that process. It has been admirable and amazing to see all that women have accomplished. But women need to take on their most important role yet in history, which is supporting men to becoming the honorable, integrity- filled leaders that keep families united. To lift their husbands, sons and brothers to making a difference in future generations of families. Men will only step into their most important role when women support them. This is truly the most historical accomplishment a woman could claim. To say that she is loved, provided for and protected by a Godly man that stands with her as he leads her into a horizon of happily ever after.

http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/

True Love

February 4, 2009

Being in love is such a wonderful experience. The saying goes, “better to have loved once than to never have loved at all.” How romantic of a saying, but unfortunately that only applies to fairy tales. You see, love goes beyond the shallowness of emotions. Feeling warm and fuzzy about someone has very little to do with real love. The chemistry and attraction we seem to need as the elements to lead us into a loving relationship are fleshly desires that will absolutely change with time. You see, true love never ends. That is why the only true love is the one that comes from God. And we ourselves know and believe the love which God has for us. God is love, and those who live in love live in union with God and God lives in union with them. 1John 4:16

We strive each day to feel real love, missing the point that love is not a feeling but a decision. Image a person saying they can only marry someone that is good looking. Imagine that after marrying that person, they have a deformed child or the good looking spouse burns their face in an accident. The importance of the appearance would mean nothing to a person who really loved their child and spouse. We all are getting older and we all are subject to possibly being disfigured in an accident. We hope that we would have people in our lives that will truly love us unfailingly. If we say we love God, but hate others, we are liars. For we cannot love God, whom we have not seen, if we do not love others, whom we have seen. 1 John 4:20

If we believe in Christ as our Lord and Savior we should love God, which means that we obey His commands. By this it will be clear to all men that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another. John 13:35 God has promised eternal life to those who believe and eternal damnation to those who don’t. That is why Christ, who is the representation of the Father, who is love, tells us; Even so it is not the pleasure of your Father in heaven for one of these little ones to come to destruction. Matthew 18:14 Love is stronger than hate. Love disciplines for good. Love is the reason we do not tolerate sin. A tool for those who want to love is to understand love as “L” for listening,”O” for observe, “V” for validate, “E” for edify.

Those we love or want to love are those who listen to us carefully; observe us close enough to learn who we are; validate us by valuing our thoughts and feelings; and those who edify us by encouraging us to become who God wants us to be-better people.

2009

As we begin another year, let us reflect with gratitude while we plan ahead with faith and hope. Some have made New Yearʼs resolutions and others may just keep things the same. We should realize that each day brings new blessings and we do not need to wait for a new year to begin a new. Every action, thought and word we take will be a seed for a future harvest. Our current circumstances are the harvest of previous seasons of sowing seeds. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man may sow, that he also will reap. Galatians 6:7

In life we are all intertwined in some form with each other and we share moments in time, which gives us the duty to sow seeds beyond our own fields. Because the owner of the land expects us to do so. Then Jesus said to them, ” So wherever you go in the world, tell everyone the Good News.” Mark 16:15

Regardless of the time of year we must make every day a reflection of a life that is increasing in righteousness and faith. Whether we start the year fasting, exercising or with some other promise to ourselves, let us realize that unless we enrich our relationship with God there will not be any lasting satisfaction for our achievements. Jesus must become more important, while I become less important. John 3:30

We must relax to the point of surrendering, in order to be strengthening ourselves daily to take a firm stands for God. Let us allow the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to bring us all into a closer relationship with Him in 2009, and every single day regardless of the year.

Change

November 6, 2008

As the 2008 presidential elections in America were concluded, they revealed the sad truth about our godless human nature. The anger of Americans with the government not protecting their lifestyles was seen clearly. The reality that our personal comforts dominated the choice for the presidency and surpassed our faith based values should not be surprising.

In other countries, you see how people beg for food and even prostitute themselves and their children for basic necessities. God willing the conditions in the United States will never come to that. But don’t be amazed at what people will do to live a better life as it relates to luxuries. That was the theme behind “change we need” where the key word is “we.” Americans have dismissed “In God We Trust” for what we need. Americans have ignored the verse in the Old Testament that clearly states “delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” We need God. Americans are accustomed to living well and even a little adversity can only be tolerated for a small period of time. We have become a nation of people with expected entitlements. The killing of the unborn and the disregard of godly principles will always be accepted as long as we can afford and experience what we consider necessary such as air-conditioning, eating out and gasoline. Both presidential candidates failed incredibly in lifting the values of our great nation over the values of self. McCain made a poor attempt to sell us on serving a cause greater than ourselves, but who was he kidding. We are Americans, is there really anything greater than ourselves? God allows pain to bring education.

The lesson taught in the US in 2008 was clear. America is changing her values. She is putting her faith in “change that we can believe” rather than believing in our God that makes us change.

Let's Talk

September 30, 2008

Politics and religion are those two areas that intellectuals always try to keep from their public conversations as proof of their intelligence. They are the uncomfortable topics that tend to possibly offend and expose the differences that polarize our society. The fact is that our lives are determined by our political and religious views. How we defer really demonstrates the lack or magnitude of knowledge on the issues.

In America we label our views as liberal, conservative, moderate, independent and some others that only tend to give a brief glimpse to some of what we think. Are we wrong or right in thinking the way we do? The reality is that we are wrong most of the times because having to demonstrate that we are right negates the point. If we are right then why must we demonstrate it? Should it not be obvious to others?

Unfortunately, not everyone sees things the way we do. Foreign policy decisions are a good indicator of that. We should try to find common ground and build on it. We all tend to agree on basic fundamentals like, murder is wrong, child abuse is unacceptable, and bestiality is unnatural, along with other basic commonalities of civilized prosperous people. It is when we begin to discuss the issues with abortion, homosexuality, finances and human individuality that we get confused. So how can we bridge the gap of confusion to bring our beliefs to center stage in a peaceful manner? Sadly, we cannot because we value ourselves more that others. We believe that we are right most of the times, which breeds a prideful arrogance. We must look at our past generations in comparison to our present. What was good then is it still good now? What was bad then is it still bad now? Has bad become good and good bad? We need to see absolutes in our values and beliefs. If they are subject to change based on viewpoints then we may be looking at them from a wrong perspective. Keep an open mind to different viewpoints but an unshakable stand on absolutes. How you determine the difference is simple. Absolutes come from God and viewpoints from man.

Here are some examples of God’s absolutes: The value of life at all levels of existence does not waver on the laws of nature, allowing death as a form of punishment, granting forgiveness if asked of Him. These things never change.

Here is an example of the most common viewpoint from man: God is wrong and I am right.

Learn to be wrong.

September 6, 2008

If there is one thing that we as prideful citizens of a free world don’t do well is learning to be wrong. Most of the times, conflict is born from the desire of demonstrating righteousness. The desire of such an arrogant trait is the peek of a mountain of pride that stands between us and humility. There are those brief moments in time when we are actually right but arguing the point usually discredits us. We need to learn to be right in the right way. The best way of practicing this technique is learning to be wrong. We do this when we learn that we are wrong most of the times. Using peaceful silence allows our righteousness to speak to others. If you are an extremist don’t suddenly become a deaf mute. Silence can also demonstrate that we are stubborn and not willing to conform. Willingness to conform in those areas that do not negatively impact our Godly living is one of the attributes of humility. What those areas are is for you to know. If you don’t know the areas in your life then find out as soon as possible. Your eternal paradise may end up disappointing you if you don’t.

Let me shed some light on the matter for those that wonder what learning to be wrong means. Learning that God is always right is what learning to be wrong means. That God’s infallible Word in Scripture is the only absolute in righteousness. When we put our own self interest before God’s we are wrong, and putting it before others makes us selfish. When the economy, unemployment, and civic issues drive our choice in an election and not God’s Word we are wrong. When we go after our own desires and sacrifice our marriages, families and future we are wrong. When we lie, cheat, steal at any level we are wrong. When we think of God as some spiritual figure in the same light as the tooth fairy, Santa Claus or a trendy thing for a season of our lives we are dead wrong.

If God is not always first in your life then you are your own God and what a poor spiritual reign awaits you. Godliness is not a frame of thought or thing we do sometimes. Godliness is a way of life that motivates your existence through faith in Him who is omnipresent.

So learn to be wrong in your own ways and start leaning to be right in God’s. His plans are to give you the desire of your heart only after you delight yourself in His.

Love your kids right.

July 18, 2008

As parents we need to understand that we have a responsibility based on love when rearing our children. Love does not mean meeting their desires but providing for their needs.

Unfortunately, parents confuse needs and desires. They provide for children’s desires based on their own desires and beliefs of what they think is a good parent. What is a good parent? Society believes it is having your kid go to the best private schools, wearing the latest fashion, taking them to Disney or buying them the latest video game.

So when a sense of entitlement overtakes our children to believe they deserve better and earning things is an old fashion way of delaying gratification, parents are to blame. Like the spoiled brat in the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory we are producing rotten eggs. We all would want to give our kids better than was given to us. If you are thinking that because as a child your parents made you the victim of abuse or you were homeless then you are right in thinking that way. If not, and like most of us in society, you were brought up in a relatively average home and to think that you must give your kid better is an arrogant notion. We must strive for a balance of maintaining values and morals while seeking all that God has for us. As parents we have a responsibility like an employer to an employee. We have a duty to behave and perform in the most honest, dedicated, trustworthy way possible as to become a role model or mentor to our children. We are called as parents to love our children like our Lord loves us. To give our lives for the betterment of a prosperous future that promotes God’s righteousness and exposes Satan’s schemes. It is hard not to give our children our heart’s desires but at times doing so will sacrifice their godly future.

Love is patient and kind, not dumb and stupid. Many of our children are growing up as dysfunctional members of society and parents are to blame. Loving your kids too much is not the reason but not loving them enough to do the right thing. We are to discipline accordingly, praise appropriately and nurture our children into independence from parents so that they become self sufficient members of a community. And all discipline for the present indeed does not seem to be joyous, but grievous; but afterward it gives back peaceable fruit of righteousness to the ones having been exercised by it. Waiting until the arrival of the day of reunion with their Father in heaven, the struggles of pleasing the flesh are real and a matter that has spiritual consequences. A father waiting in heaven sounds like a fairy tale concept to unbelievers. For those who live in Christ Jesus it is real. They believe that at their physical death their spirit goes home to be with their Father in heaven. The alternative is somewhat harder to believe-that we take up space for an earthly time span and then like a crushed insect our purpose has ended. All that we do has spiritual consequences. As human beings we are more concerned about physical circumstances than our spiritual one. We just have no real notion of the magnitude of our spirituality.

Fathers, for instance, have a role of authority that should display love in all its strengths. It is no coincidence that the great ills of society can be directly related to an absence of a father in the home. Fathers are the heads of their families and are entrusted with spiritual authority and power to have long lasting effects. Our brains for example are accepted to have unlimited abilities which cannot be rationally measured. The “only using 10% brain potential” theory is dismissed when accepting that the brain has un-measurable capabilities. So how would the spirit differ? We must accept that our spiritual relationship with God has dimensions beyond our imaginations, as well as that our actions will bring spiritual consequences and that we have the ability to bless or curse our future generations. The spiritual inheritance fathers leave behind after they are gone is as real as a trust fund in the bank. May all fathers invest in the spiritual inheritance they are building and let no other manager take control of the portfolio other than Jesus Christ.

“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments”. Deut 5:8-10

“So let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works, and may glorify your Father in Heaven”. Who is your leader?

June 4, 2008

It is so common for one to feel good about having your favorite number, color, place or choice in something well acknowledged. We sometimes get caught up in the “I’m winning” or “We are winning” as the driving force behind our actions.

In America’s current state of affairs her future seems to be dependent on Clinton, McCain, Obama, the economy, the war, the congress, the Supreme Court or any other entity of your hearts desires. Sadly it is not that simple. Individuals at some point in their lives must realize that at any moment they could take their last breath or be living their last earthly day. The acknowledgement of that vulnerable situation should make all that come to it accept the power of God. That’s what it is all about.

As believers in the mighty works of Jesus Christ, we should contribute to the greater good. The good of others and the future of all those we call brothers and sisters. When we say others we cannot stop at the borders of the United States. We must include the degraded women of the Middle East, the oppressed in dictatorships around the world, the starving in Africa and especially the misguided or lost sheep that have no Shepherd. America is more than any one person running for president or a poor economy can imagine. America was founded on Godly principles clearly outlined by her founders in the Declaration of independence and in the Constitution. America was powerfully ordained and blessed to spread the message of freedom and peace. The first U.S. President George Washington said, “The only way to have peace is to be ready for war.” War is nothing new to followers of the Ultimate Warrior who conquered death. All that we experience has greater consequences than what we can perceive with our natural vision, which is the greatest of all wars. We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world; Ephesians 6:12.

We must cultivate a spiritual awareness to understand that we must put God first. To have your God any place else other than first is to degrade Him to a lesser position than that of God. So let us seek our leader in order to have prosperity in our country as it is written in the second book of Chronicles chapter seven verse fourteen: If my own people will humbly pray and turn back to me and stop sinning, then I will answer them from heaven. I will forgive them and make their land fertile once again. Remember that “in God we trust” is more than just words.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://raulcorrea1.blogspot.com/2010/05/war-who-is-your-leader.html' title='War? The early Christians celebrated the Mother’s festival on the fourth Sunday of Lent to honor Mary, the mother of Christ. Interestingly, later a religious order stretched the holiday to include all mothers, and named it as the Mothering Sunday. The English colonists who settled in America discontinued the tradition of Mothering Sunday because of lack of time. In 1872 Julia Ward Howe organized a day for mothers dedicated to peace. It is a landmark in the history of Mother’s Day.

In 1907, Anna M. Jarvis (1864-1948), a Philadelphia schoolteacher, began a movement to set up a national Mother’s Day in honor of her mother, Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis. She solicited the help of hundreds of legislators and prominent businessmen to create a special day to honor mothers. The first Mother’s Day observance was a church service honoring Anna’s mother. Anna handed out her mother’s favorite flowers, the white incarnations, on the occasion as they represent sweetness, purity, and patience. Anna’s hard work finally paid off in the year 1914, when President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May as a national holiday in honor of mothers.

Slowly and gradually Mother’s day became very popular and gift giving activity increased as part of commercialization. This infuriated Anna as she believed that the day’s sentiment was being overshadowed at the expense of greed and profit. So now you know.

www.freedigitalphotos.net

Emotions and Feelings

May 3, 2008

Time and time again we hear the way things affect people, from the birth of a child, weddings, deaths or just destructive words spoken. We seem to give meaning of incredible importance to our feelings and emotions. Are feelings and emotions real? Of course they are, especially to whoever is experiencing them. Do feelings and emotions lie? You better believe they do. Is everything black and white? Most definitely all things from a spiritual view are black and white. You are either with God or with the devil. Unfortunately, many times we want to be in the middle. “But because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth!” Rev 3:16

We must keep things in perspective be happy, joyful, mad and sad. We must learn to deal with our emotions and feelings. Specifically, when they produce discord and prolonged pain, which should be only for a season and we determine the length of our season. For some, the season becomes a lifetime and therefore they become emotionally handicapped. We must gauge all things by God’s Word. What emotions or feelings did Abraham experience when told by God to kill his son? We seem to not realize that all emotions ever felt by man were felt by Christ. His character displayed obedience beyond emotional circumstances. So the proof is in the performance. We must show compassion and empathy for others when appropriate. But in today’s culture of psychotherapy, justifing behavior and self indulgence we seem to think it is about our feelings. “God wants me to be happy!” is the statement of choice for those seeking divorce or any other fleshly desires. But God said; “Seek your happiness in the LORD, and He will give you your heart’s desire.” Psalms 37:4

So if you feel depressed, hurt, falsely accused, pain, betrayal, humiliation, abandoned, rejected and misunderstood then realize that Christ did also. He conquered all those emotions and feelings in obedience to His father in heaven and for our salvation.

National Day of Prayer

May 1, 2008

The first Thursday in May is the National Day of Prayer.

The National Day of Prayer is a vital part of our heritage. Since the first call to prayer in 1775, when the Continental Congress asked the colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation, the call to prayer has continued through our history, including President Lincoln’s proclamation of a day of “humiliation, fasting, and prayer” in 1863. In 1952, a joint resolution by Congress, signed by President Truman, declared an annual, national day of prayer. In 1988, the law was amended and signed by President Reagan, permanently setting the day as the first Thursday of every May. Each year, the president signs a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. Last year, all 50 state governors plus the governors of several U.S. territories signed similar proclamations.

Like Thanksgiving or Christmas, this day has become a national observance placed on all Hallmark calendars and observed annually across the nation and in Washington, D.C.

So as a Nation we have a day of prayer, who do we pray to, for what and if it is that improtant then why pray only one day, which is better than no day at all. We are a religious Nation by birth and we should be proud that we have been blessed. But our freedoms have created an arrogance and pushed us into an independance from God. We may need more than just one day.

www.freedigitalphotos.net

Spiritual Warfare

April 28, 2008

We struggle with combating our, as they say, demons. Do we live in the flesh or in the spirit? There is a great movement on deliverance in today’s religious communities from demons, curses and spiritual roots that have grown into full trees that are overshadowing our live. There is a great importance in freeing us from strongholds. Seeking a deliverance experience is something to be cautious about. Is it about us freeing ourselves or Christ? We are to seek a spiritual awakening that frees us from the root of all evil and places us at the base of the cross. Why was the Apostle Paul not delivered from the thorn in his side? All our suffering as believers should draw us closer to Christ. We are better off suffering and drawing closer to God than being delivered and feeling good about our experiences. Let’s renew ourselves daily.

www.freedigitalphotos.net

Go to Him!

April 27, 2008

We all want to be a part of a group and that is OK. Unfortunately, when you are part of a group you are just one more of them, whatever they may be. That is fine and there is nothing wrong with being a part of a group. Groups do great things. But people are who we have intimate relationships with not groups. Having a relationship with God is the most intimate relationship you could have.

The next most intimate is that of a married couple. God says draw closer to me and I will draw closer to you. So when people say, I believe in God in my own way, then it is not God’s way because you are competing with God. Guess who will lose? So if you are drawn to a group for its preacher, pastor, priest, leader or whatever, then you are in for a rude awakening. Let’s not pull or push each other into groups but draw ourselves closer to God first. If a group helps you do that, then great! If the RAULCORREA.COM helps you then great!

Remember not in our way, but in God’s way and let’s not try to build our groups but our relationship with Him. The space in between us is the area of our differences as we move closer to God, who should be the center of all our lives.

Disclaimer

Thank you for visiting KILLSIN.COM.

“This disclaimer governs your use of our website; by using our website, you accept this disclaimer in full.
